Liu Chengrui (Guazi), after having prepared a custom made suite matching Bernard's company colours, chose to perform some silent purposeless gestures in different areas of the workshop; giving the feeling that he is performing some unknown and unclear production tasks, he created a different space of interaction based on the strangeness brought about by the ambiguity of his presence and of his actions. Before staging this intervention, he visited the plant several times before and shared images about his previous works with the workers and the employees during various informal discussions. He expressed his concern about how to interact interestingly without disturb or being too direct and ultimately he came up with and articulated the idea of a "second space" of interaction, whose nature is to be found beyond the verbal and the formal levels of the daily working routine. He visited the factory on multiple occasions and engaged in a series of interview with workers and managers. Particularly he had a longstanding relationship with Wei Chengcheng, and they created a two-people performance in the factory, again mimetized among the daily routine.
