Hidden interventions

Wu Xiaojun 吴小军 is a seminal figure in the history of Chinese contemporary art. His practice has always focused on social intervention and a conceptual approach, and he firmly believes in art as a source of new thinking and of change in society.

He visited the company and spent time talking with workers and managers, investigating the relational side of the project and the impact of European management on the Chinese working mentality. He promised to come back with a full project; meanwhile he could not resist making a few small hidden interventions here and there in the factory, driven by humour, spontaneity and improvisation.
